Hypercomplex analysis and integration of systems of ordinary differential equations

We review the theory of hypercomplex numbers and hypercomplex analysis with the ultimate goal of applying them to issues related to the integration of systems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs). We introduce the notion of hypercomplexification, which allows the lifting of some results known for scalar ODEs to systems of ODEs. In particular, we provide another approach to the construction of superposition laws for some Riccati‐type systems, we obtain invariants of Abel‐type systems, we derive integrable Ermakov systems through hypercomplexification, we address the problem of linearization by hypercomplexification, and we provide a solution to the inverse problem of the calculus of variations for some systems of ODEs. Open problems in pluripotential theory

We propose a list of open problems in pluripotential theory partially motivated by their applications to complex differential geometry. The list includes both local questions as well as issues related to the compact complex manifold setting.     

Similarity of hybrid numbers

The set of hybrid numbers $𝕂$ is a noncommutative number system that unified and generalized the complex, dual, and double (hyperbolic) numbers with the relation ih =− hi =ε+ i. Two hybrid numbers p and q are said to be similar if there exist a nonlightlike hybrid number x satisfying the equality x ⁻¹ qx = p . And, it is denoted by p ∼ q . In this paper, we study the concept of similarity for hybrid numbers by solving the linear equations px = xq and qx − xp = c for $\text{◂,▸}\mathbf{p},\mathbf{q},\mathbf{c}\in 𝕂\mathbf{.}$     

An approach for solving a fuzzy multiobjective programming problem

In this paper we present a new approach, based on the Nearest Interval Approximation Operator, for dealing with a multiobjective programming problem with fuzzy-valued objective functions.

Motzkin numbers out of Random Domino Automaton

Motzkin numbers are derived from a special case of Random Domino Automaton – recently proposed a slowly driven system being a stochastic toy model of earthquakes. It is also a generalisation of 1D Drossel–Schwabl forest-fire model. A solution of the set of equations describing stationary state of Random Domino Automaton in inverse-power case is presented. A link with Motzkin numbers allows to present explicit form of asymptotic behaviour of the automaton.     

Context-free grammars for triangular arrays

We consider context-free grammars of the form G = {f → fb1+b2+1ga1+a2, g → fb1 ga1+1},where ai and bi are integers sub ject to certain positivity conditions. Such a grammar G gives rise to triangular arrays {T(n, k)}0≤k≤n satisfying a three-term recurrence relation. Many combinatorial sequences can be generated in this way. Let Tn (x) =∑nk=0T(n, k)xk. Based on the differential operator with respect to G, we define a sequence of linear operators Pn such that Tn+1(x) = Pn(Tn(x)). Applying the characterization of real stability preserving linear operators on the multivariate polynomials due to Borcea and Br?ndén, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the operator Pn to be real stability preserving for any n. As a consequence, we are led to a sufficient condition for the real-rootedness of the polynomials defined by certain triangular arrays, obtained by Wang and Yeh.Moreover, as special cases we obtain grammars that lead to identities involving the Whitney numbers and the Bessel numbers.
